*THIS BUSINESS IS PRO-POLICE SURVEILLANCE AND BRUTALITY* Dear RE/MAX NEXT Team, I'm writing to express my deep disappointment that your business has endorsed an alderman candidate who promotes pro-police brutality and increased surveillance. As a resident of this community, I believe that this platform is not only ineffective in preventing crime, but it also creates an unwelcoming and hostile environment for many members of our community. Adding more police presence to our safe neighborhood would not make it safer, and instead, it could lead to unnecessary profiling and harassment of marginalized communities. Additionally, endorsing a candidate who advocates for such harmful policies sends a message that your business does not value the safety and well-being of all community members. As a business that prides itself on being LGBTQ+ friendly, I would have hoped that RE/MAX NEXT would have known better than to support a candidate whose policies go against the very principles of inclusivity and acceptance. I urge you to reconsider your endorsement and to take a more thoughtful approach in supporting candidates that align with the values of the community you serve.
